Karen was born on 8th May 1972 in Brooklyn, New York into a mob family. Her father is none other than Sammy "The Bull" Gravano, a former underboss of the Gambino crime family.
Currently, her father is serving a 19-year sentence. After her father's arrest, Karen and her mother, Debra Scibetta, were put in the Federal Witness Protection Program in Arizona.
