Anne Fulenwider was born on 30 March 1972 in the United States to mother, Constance Fulenwider, and father, Michael Fulenwider.

Her mother served on the board of the Boston Philharmonic and the Elisabeth Morrow School. She passed away at the age of 73 in July 2016.  Anne was raised along with her sister Wendy Fulenwider, who is married as of now. 

She graduated from the Havard University in 1995 with a B.A. in English and American Literature.

Anne’s first job out of the college was as a paid intern at a magazine named Swing, which was started by David Lauren. She got the job as her sister was a college friend of David’s sister, Dylan. The work environment was entirely beneficial for Anne as she was able to get most from her three-month working period.

After that, she got an internship at George Plimpton’s literary magazine, The Paris Review, where she continued her career as an assistant for George Plimpton. During that time, she was helping Plimpton with the biography of Turman Capote.
