Grace Dent was born in 1974 in the city of Carlisle, Cumberland, United Kingdom. Grace has a brother, Dave, who she utterly loves even today. She attended Bishop Goodwin Primary School in Cur rock, Carlisle, and later went to study English Literature at Stirling University.
Right after graduation, Grace landed on her first job as an editorial assistant for Marie Claire. Later, she worked as a restaurant critic for the Guardian for 12 long years from 2000 through 2012 and penned down a popular column on her name, Grace and Flavor for The Evening Standard.
Dent was the Evening Standard’s London Food Month's creative director, which bagged her the 'Best Debut Event' at the 2017 Event Awards. She is also a regular critic of cooking reality shows like Master Chef UK and Celebrity Master Chef. Currently, she in The Independent, where she works as a food critic.

Grace, apart from being a food critic, is also a famous author. She has written eleven novels to date, like Poor Little Rich Girl, Too Cool For School, Hungry, and LBD: It's a Girl Thing. Her books emphasize teenage readers. Grace was one of the shortlisted individuals for the Queen of Teen Prize in 2008.
