Her father, Meseret, was a former journalism professor who used to teach at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Her father got his Ph.D. plus master’s degree in mass communication and a master’s degree in political science from the University of Minnesota.
Her father was regarded as Eden’s major source of inspiration. Unfortunately, she lost the love of her father in November 2012.
Her late father was also an author, whose years of work, a book named The Quest for Press Freedom, was published after his death on 25 May 2013.

Eden Checkol’s journey to success started back in August 2011 after she joined the company named Clear Channel as an Intern and served till April 2012.
