Michelle Miller was born on 8 December 1967 in Los Angeles, California. Carrying American nationality, she possesses African-American ethnicity. Regarding her parents, her father Ross Miller was the first physician who attended Robert Kennedy during his assassination. In 1988 she served as an intern at Nightline and The Minneapolis Star- Tribune. During 1989 to 1990 she wrote articles for the ‘Valley’ and ‘South Bay’ for the Los Angeles Times. After leaving this job in 1990, she moved to Orange County News Channel in California where she worked as a producer, news reporter, and assignment editor. After her 2 and a half years in the station, she relocated to Columbia, South Carolina where she worked for WIS-TV as a news reporter and anchor for their show ‘Weekend Morning News.' She again moved to New Orleans, Louisiana after one year in South Carolina where she worked as a news reporter and weekend anchor at CBS-News Affiliate WWL-TV.
She then joined CBS News in 2005 and became a bureau correspondent right away. While working as the bureau correspondent, she reported news for all broadcasts of CBS News and regularly appeared on ‘CBS This Morning’, ‘The CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley’, ‘CBS Evening News with Bob Schieffer’, ‘CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood’, ‘CBS Evening News with Katie Couric’ and ‘The Early Show’.
Miller has received awards like Edward R. Murrow Award in 1998, Dupont Award from Columbia University in 2013 and Salute to Excellence Award from the National Association of Black Journalists. She was also voted as the Women of the Year by the National Sports Foundation in 2013.
