Rob Stone began his career in 1992 as a product assistant at ESPN. He worked at the SportsCenter, College GameDay, and Outside the Lines there.

It didn't take long for Rob to move to WFXL-TV, a FOX affiliate, where he worked as a weekend sports anchor/reporter from 1993 to 1994 and as a sports director from 1994 to 1995.

He was also a sports anchor for WTOG-TV in Tampa/St. Petersburg, where he served as a reporter for the Sam Wyche Report and the Tony Dungy Show. Rob was also an analyst for the Tampa Bay Mutiny matches on FOX Sports Florida during the 1996 and 1997 MLS seasons.

His career reached heights after he joined ESPN again as a soccer commentator. There, he worked as a sideline reporter for ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC at the beginning of 1997.

Rob covered four FIFA World Cups and served as a host for World Cup 2Night at the 2002 World Cup in Japan. Rob has also served as a reporter in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

It was in 2012 when Rob joined FOX as the lead anchor for FOX Sports’ soccer, college football and basketball. He continued to report for the World Cup as he served as the lead studio host for 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia as well.

As of now, Rob is serving Fox Sports as the lead play-by-play announcer on Go Bowling! Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Tour on FOX and FS1.
