Towanda Braxton was born on 18 September 1973 in Severn, Maryland USA to parents Michael Braxton and Evelyn Braxton.
The 45-year-old actress, who stands at the height of 5 feet 3 inches (1.6m), was raised in a family with four siblings. Her four sisters namely Toni, Tamar, Traci and Trina Braxton were into the singing business from the very beginning.

As a child, Towanda had an immense passion for acting rather than singing. But following the path of her sisters, Towanda’s interest towards singing increased as she grew older.
Therefore, she started singing at a tender age of five. Towanda first signed the record deal for the band The Braxtons along with her sisters in 1989. There, with collaboration with sisters, she released the song, Good Life.
Eventually, in 1991, Towanda's sister Toni departed from the group as she wanted a solo career. As a group of four, the remaining team released their second single Only Love on 25 January 1997.
But in 1998, Towanda's other sister Tamar Braxton also pursued a solo career and left the group. Due to which, Towanda and other ones faced disbandment in 2010.
Though the Braxton sisters parted their ways regarding career, Towanda still shares an adorable bond with her sisters. She even expresses her love for them on social media.

Apart from her singing career, Towanda is also known as a reality star just like Jessica Parido.
She stars in the American reality show, Braxton Family Values on WE TV since 2011 after which her fame reached the highest peak. The show also featured her four sisters along with their mother, Evelyn.
Moreover, she made a remarkable contribution in the movie The Execution of Nigel Harris in 2017. Her projects Misguided Behavior and The Real Georgia Peaches are yet to be released.

Towanda's Married Life With Andre Carter Ended In Divorce
Towanda married Andre Carter in 2004.
Andre, who stands at a significant height of 6 feet and 4 inches (1.93m) is a famous football player. The couple first met in an Atlanta nightclub.

Towanda started dating Andre and later on the couple exchanged their vows as husband and wife. After a year of marriage, the duo was blessed with their first child, a son named Braxton Montelus Carter on 11 November 2005.
Their family bliss enriched after welcoming a second child: a baby girl named Broke Carter on 27 December 2006.
However, the pair couldn't continue their marital voyage for long as, after twelve years of marriage, Towanda filed divorce papers against her husband on 25 August 2016 in Georgia Court.
After the divorce papers were finalized on 26 October 2016, Towanda ended her marriage with the conclusion of sharing kid’s joint physical and legal custody. Since then, she has not been linked with any men.

As of now, Towanda is relishing her life with her two kids as a single mom.
She even travels with her kids and posts picture with them on Instagram once in a while. For instance, Towanda shared a photo with her children on Instagram on 2 April 2018.
Her post clarified that she makes time for her two munchkins and gives her best to take care of them, despite being busy.
