Together, she and her partner are parenting their daughter. On 14 July 2019, she announced, through a tweet, that she was pregnant and expecting her first child with her partner. After nearly four months of the announcement, on 4 November 2019, Steph gave birth to a baby girl.

Career

Steph McGovern got a chance to work on BBC, when she was 19 years old, after making a guest appearance on a program related to women in science. After that, she was able to get a job at Tomorrow's World as a part-time researcher.

Following her graduation, she was appointed as the main producer for daily financial news by Today program on Radio 4. There, she got the chance to interview some of the famous business leaders as well as run several foreign projects.
