Michelle Miller, a news correspondent, and an anchor was born on the 8th of December, 1967 in Los Angeles, California, where she spent her childhood with her parents. With a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Howard University and a Master’s Degree in Urban Studies from the University of New Orleans, Michelle is one of the most accomplished journalists in today’s world.

Miller began her journalism career in 1988 as an intern for The Minneapolis Star- Tribune and later served as an intern for ABC News Nightline. After completing her undergraduate studies, she started working as a reporter for The Los Angeles Times, where she wrote articles for the ‘Valley’ and ‘South Bay’ section of the magazine. After leaving this job in 1990, she moved to Orange County News Channel in California where she worked as a producer, news reporter, and assignment editor. After her 2 and a half years in the station, she relocated to Columbia, South Carolina where she worked for WIS-TV as a news reporter and anchor for their show ‘Weekend Morning News.' She again moved to New Orleans, Louisiana after one year in South Carolina where she worked as a news reporter and weekend anchor at CBS-News Affiliate WWL-TV. After completing her master’s degree in 1997, she started hosting ‘The Early Edition.' Miller moved to New York City in 2004 and got hired as the substitute anchor and national correspondent for ‘B.E.T Nightly News.' She then joined CBS News in 2005 and became a bureau correspondent right away. While working as the bureau correspondent, she reported news for all broadcasts of CBS News and regularly appeared on ‘CBS This Morning’, ‘The CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley’, ‘CBS Evening News with Bob Schieffer’, ‘CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood’, ‘CBS Evening News with Katie Couric’ and ‘The Early Show’.

From 1998 till 2001, Miller worked as a professor of Journalism and Mass Communications at Dillard University. Miller has also lectured at Southern University of New Orleans, Howard University, Stony Brook University, Drew University, Louisiana State University and much more. She has also served as a member of Board of Advisors at Hampton University, The School of American Ballet and Scripps Howard School of Journalism.

She is also a member of Jack and Jill of America, Greater New York City Chapter of the Links, a founding member of Women’s Leadership Initiative for the United Way of New Orleans. She was also the President of the New Orleans Association of Black Journalists and Black Journalists Association of Southern California.

Miller has received awards like Edward R. Murrow Award in 1998, Dupont Award from Columbia University in 2013 and Salute to Excellence Award from the National Association of Black Journalists. She was also voted as the Women of the Year by the National Sports Foundation in 2013.

Miller Married her Husband Marc Morial in 1999, who was the then Mayor of the City of New Orleans and later became the CEO and President of the National Urban League.
