Then in 2009, he became associated with CNN where he joined the organization first as an intern.
Later, he became a production assistant, working on Christiane Amanpour’s Amanpour and Anderson Cooper 360 degree. Similarly, in 2010, the day after the big, destructive earthquake in Haiti, he traveled to Haiti with his CNN team.
At that time, he worked as an interpreter and production assistant. For this coverage, the team won two Emmy Awards. He became successful to win a Peabody Award too for his notable work of covering the kidnapping of the Nigerian schoolgirls by the terrorist group called Boko Haram. Then in the August of 2014, he left CNN to join CBS News that is based in New York.
He took over for Charlie Rose at CBS This Morning, after the network fired Charlie over allegations of sexual harassment. Besides, Vladimir has also spoken about LGBT rights, and he was called by Elton John to talk about gay rights.
After having joined CBS, he has covered a wide range of stories. He covered for about a month about the protests which was started when a white police officer caught an unarmed African American man for questioning.

While talking about his love life he is currently dating a girlfriend Marian Wang who shares the same profession as him. She is a senior news producer at Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
