Growing up with his father, mother, Linda Calise, and sisters, he had a dream to become a Navy Seal from a young age.
However, after watching the movie Goodfellas in 1990 at the age of 12, his aim changed to become an actor.

Shortly after finishing high school, he was offered a job at Prelude Pictures’ Television and Feature Film Development, where he got a chance to work with several film personalities.
