She studied at Spelman College in Atlanta and passed out with a B.A. degree in English in 1994. After that, she got enrolled at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. Later, in 1995, she received her Master's Degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Karen Jordan is married to Christian Farr, a fellow NBC5 News Channel’s broadcast journalist and anchor.

Blessing their married life, they first celebrated the arrival of a daughter named Vivian Jordan on 11th August 2012. Later, on 28th February 2017, they were again blessed with a child, a son named John Robert Farr.

Since then, the married couple is seen taking their two children at various places, parks, etc.

Career In Journalism

Karen Jordan’s career in the field of journalism initiated in 1995 after she was assigned as a general assignment reporter for WIFR-TV. She worked there till 1997. While working for WIFR-TV, she also used to work for WMAQ-AM in Chicago as a radio reporter.

Likewise, she also served for WKEF-TV in Dayton, a weekend anchor and general assignment reporter (from 1997 to 1999). Following that, in 1999, she joined WRGT-TV in Dayton, Ohio as a main anchor and reporter and served there for a year.

Later, she joined various news companies such as WPHL-TV in Philadelphia as a weekday anchor and newscaster. In WPHL-TV, she also used to perform other tasks such as anchoring, assignment reporting, covering breaking news, and local stories. She left WPHL-TV in 2003 after joining in 2000.

Finally, in July 2003, Karen joined the ABC 7 Chicago news team. Since then, she has been showcasing her talents and skills through which she has gained a lot of admirers.
