Dr. Erika Navarro built a passion for weather at a young age of 12 after Hurricane Floyd left significant impacts on her hometown. Her co-worker in The Weather Channel (TWC) deemed Erika as one of the smartest people in the building.
Dr. Erika must have reached a fantastic height of success as she is a combination of brains and relatability. She has a great passion and understanding of science, and she works hard to help communicate that to the viewers.
After working for The Weather Channel for years, Dr. Erika left the company on 31 December 2018 and joined NASA in February 2019.
Furthermore, she must have earned a decent amount of salary while working for TWC and must also make a hefty amount of pay as a NASA member.
When she is not working, Dr. Erika spends her time reading, enjoying her time with her family and friends, and being outside. She also loves playing sports, climbing, cycling, and doing yoga.

Before getting married and sharing each other’s ethnicity, the couple dated for a while. Even after being engaged to be married, both Erika and Patrick took their time to finalize the date of the wedding.
Erika, who felt that the timing of their engagement was worst, later thought that it brought the best, and she couldn’t wait to marry Patrick and take their wedding vows to start a new life as husband and wife.
She is grateful for the unconditional love and support of her husband, who became her dearest friend. She finds her husband’s presence and friendship truly a gift.

Dr. Erika began her journey in the weather department at Wellesley College, where she studied Physics and Spanish. She worked as an intern at The Weather Channel throughout her graduate education.
While serving as an intern, Erika supported the expert team throughout 2013 and 2014 hurricane seasons.
Later, Erika received her M.S and Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Washington. Her Ph.D. thesis focused on hurricanes that explained how the changes that take place during the daytime and evening hours affected their overall intensity.
