He started his broadcasting career as a colour commentator for ESPN2 from the year 1993 to 2004.

Brian started as a professional hockey defenseman via his first NHL game in 1977 at the age of 22. Because of his sharp playing stints, Brian was announced as a winner of two Stanley Cups in 1978 and 1979.
