The model was born on 5 October 1990 in Teresina, Brazil to her parents, Maria do Socorro Carvalho Pereira and José Ribeiro de Oliveira Filho. Currently, she is of 28 years of age and belongs to African-Brazillian ethnicity.

Before delving into modeling, Lais Ribeiro initially studied nursing. At the age of 19, Lais started modeling locally and it did not take her long to move-onto bigger platforms. In 2009, she walked the major international catwalks for designers like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dolce, and Gabbana and Marc Jacobs.
Lais, who stands at the tall height of 5 feet 11 inches (1.8 meters), has been modeling for Victoria's Secret since 2010 appearing in five Victoria's Secrets Fashion Shows from 2010 to 2015.
In 2011, during the Brazil fashion week for the spring/summer 2011 collection, she was the most booked runway model with 27 shows during São Paulo Fashion Week and 26 shows during Rio Fashion Week.
In the year 2015, Lais became an official Victoria’s, 'Secret Angel'. She has even worked with some of the biggest names in the industry in a variety of international shows and campaigns.

Joakim had surprised Lais at her favorite place in the earth that being- at the beautiful 'Burning Man Festival.' He went down on his one knee and placed the most beautiful ring on her finger.

Lais gave a beautiful tribute to her son, who was diagnosed with autism at the age of five. Back on 19 July 2018, she shared a picture of herself getting a tattoo to honor her son.

Through her Instagram post, she revealed that her 10-years old son had been diagnosed with autism five years ago.
Lais has currently two tattoos in her body. On the back of her neck, the first tattoo is written in the name of his son ‘Alexandre.’ Now, the second one, with a very meaningful tattoo, the sign of Autism Awareness Ribbon to honor her son.

Lais timely flaunts pictures of her son through her social account. Back on 1 April 2018, she shared the picture of herself with her son celebrating Easter together at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.
