Raised in a political family, Ashley Biden soon followed her father's footsteps. She is the daughter of 47th Vice President of the US, Joe Biden. Apart from social work, Ashley Biden is also a fashion freak. She merged two of her interests, fashion, and social work, and launched the project, Livelihood in partnership with flash-sale Gilt in February 2017. Livelihood is a collection of hooded sweatshirts, that are produced ethically without hurting any animals. The sweaters are unisex and are universally acceptable to all ages. The hoodies cost somewhere in between $79 and $99, and the money collected is donated to the charity; typical of Ashley.
The funds raised by selling the sweatshirts is focused on contributing to education facilities, workplace development, and job placement in cities like Wilmington, Delaware, and Anacostia, District of Columbia. According to Ashley, Livelihood's main ambition is to increase people's participation and decrease the economic gap among citizens.
