Born to Rico Mansfield and Jennifer Osei, he has a sister named Ashanti-Osei-Mansfield. His father is also his talent manager.

Career (Movies & TV Shows)

Akai Osei began dancing professionally at a very young age. As a child, he was highly inspired and influenced by big names in dancing like Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, Diversity, and Flawless. 

When he was 10-years old, he participated in the Sky 1’s dance competition show, Got To Dance, featuring his street dance style. As a talented dancer, leaving behind other contestants, he became the winner of the first season of the show on 14th February 2010. He also earned prize money of £100,000.

Recognizing his potential and widespread popularity after his first participation as a dancer, he began to look for a chance in acting. Soon in 2010, he got the part of Dancing Kid in the British 3D dance comedy-drama film, StreetDance 3D. Additionally, he was also featured in the music video of the film titled We Dance On, released as a single by the British hip hop group, N-Dubz.

Again in the same year (2010), he was cast on the children’s TV program, ‘Blue Peter’, and also got featured in a commercial for Ministry of Sound Street Dance CD and Streets Ahead, an annual dance show in London.

Then in 2011, he appeared in the British 3D children’s adventure comedy film Horrid Henry: The Movie playing the role of Talent Show Contestant. Again in July 2011, he was featured as a judge in the Disney Channel’s talent show, Shake It Up Dance. 

He portrayed in the children’s British comedy, drama, and musical series, 4 O’Clock Club in the third season of the show (premiered on 20th December 2013) playing the role of regular series characters, Nero Johnson.
