Joy Giovanni is an American actress, retired professional wrestler, former WWE Diva and a glamor model. She was born on January 20, 1978, in Boston, United States. Her parents got divorced when she was just four years of age. She is popular especially for her time with World Wrestling Entertainment where she worked on its very famous program which is still running and called 'Smackdown.' She was the first female wrestler and the only winner of the promotion's Rookie Diva of the Year award.
She began her career in wrestling by participating in WWE`s Diva search in 2004 where she finished in third place. Joy also got into a catfight with WWE wrestler Amy Weber on December 16. The fight caused after Joy gave John Bradshaw Layfield a candy cane. On January 6, 2005, edition of Smackdown Joy refused to sign the petition of WWE wrestler Carlito which made him furious, and he spat apple at her face.
On the same episode of Smackdown, WWE superstar Kurt Angle was tricked to walk into Joy's locker room by Amy Weber to scare her while she was in the shower.
Again Big Show came to the rescue, and he chased Angle to the ring in defense of Joy and attacked him. It was revealed to be a scripted plot by The Cabinet to get Big Show and Angle angry at each other, and it sparked a wrestling match between them later.
After Amy Weber's departure from WWE in February 2005, the feud between Joy and her was dropped suddenly, and Joy went on to win the 2005 Rookie Diva of the Year contest. On February 21 at a live WWE event, Joy competed in a bikini contest which was won by Torrie Wilson.
