Josie Lawrence’s Wiki-Bio, Career

With the birth name Wendy Lawrence, Josie was born on 6 June 1959 in England. She belongs to an average family, where her father worked in a British Leyland, and her mother was a kitchen lady.

Josie was brought up in Cradley Heath with her two siblings, a brother, and a sister, who are twins. She went to Dartington College of Arts and got her bachelor’s degree in 1981.

As she was keenly interested in acting from a young age of 5, Josie started her career as an actress at the age of 16. The smart and straightforward lady initially began performing as a young boy at the Half Moon Theatre.

In the 1980s, she became a part of a play called Passionaria that starred Denise Black. Later, the 59-year-old debuted as a comedian via the play, Songs For Stray Cats.

The big break for Josie came in 1994 when she debuted in the series, Outside Edge. For her role in the show, she was even awarded as the Glasses wearer.

 In addition to this, she also received Dame Peggy Ashcroft Award for best actress at the Shakespeare’s Globe Awards for her role in The Taming of The Shrew.

Josie has been rejoicing her singlehood since a long time and has never been entangled in any relationship publicly. Due to the absence of a boyfriend in her life, she was once rumored to be a lesbian.

The rumors of her being homosexual fueled up when she portrayed a lesbian role in the movie A Many Splintered Thing in 1998.

But the speculations of her being lesbian got falsified when Josie spilled out about her past relationships during an interview with The Free Library in 2000. There, she claimed that she was genuinely in love with a guy before he broke her heart. 

After her breakup, Josie said that she had terrific boyfriends. She also disclosed that most of her exes were already a husband with own family.

In 2003, while talking to Chronicle live in London, Josie revealed her relationship status.

She stated that she was single and had not found any perfect one to get married to start a family. Interestingly, Josie also spilled the beans that she was fond of children.

In the meantime, she also shared her belief that one should not chase for love and look out for husbands. 

Perhaps due to her belief that waiting is better than searching for her happiness in love-life, Josie is still single. She appears to be focused on her career rather than dwelling on the challenges of relationships despite her wants to have children.
