Algee was born on 7 November 1994 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was born to Algee Smith III and Tanesha Eley. Algee’s mother was a fashion designer, who later married the musician John Eley and raised Algee. He was raised alongside his siblings, his sister Soteria. Although he was not raised along with his biological father, he is still a part of Algee’s life.
Growing up with his stepdad, he fell in love with music as John was a music man. Just at the age of nine, he recorded his first rap music. At the age of 16, he was offered to participate in the Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing competition.
Following these events, he made his acting debut in 2012 in Nickelodeon’s sitcom How to Rock as the role of Spencer. Since then, he has guest starred many shows. However, his role in musical T.V. show Let It Shine boosted his career fame. In the year 2014, he made his big screen debut in the science fiction movie Earth to Echo with the role of Marcus Simms.
Later, in 2015, Algee was cast in the recurring role of Rae in Mykelti Williamson’s directorial venture ‘Sons 2 the Grave’. He was cast as Theo in USA Network’s drama-thriller, Complications.
