Born on July 1, 1981, Amanda Seales was formerly known by her stage name which was Amanda Diva. She is an American actress, comedian, radio personality, recording artist, and disc jockey (DJ). Seales and her family moved to Orlando, Florida when she was just eight years of age. Her parents are also from America.
There she attended Dr. Philips High School. She completed her graduation from SUNY-Purchase and then went on to acquire a master's degree from Columbia University African American Studies in with a concentration in Hip Hop. Besides performing solo, she was also a touring member of a musical group called Floetry.
She began her career by working on the now famous Nickelodeon sitcom called My Brother and Me (1994) where she acted in the role of Deonne. After working there, she later became widely known to the public as a VJ Amanda Diva, and she also hosted the face of hip-hop on MTV2 on Sundays.
Seales spent some time as a spoken word poet and a recording artist who was suggested by her friend when she was in college. She changed her name from Amanda Diva back to Amanda Seales in 2011. She also returned to television and soon after she started doing standup comedy shows. She is the CEO of her production company called DivaWorks Inc. She is very hard working and mainly focuses the end of racial discrimination, the empowerment of young women. She is also the social media ambassador for her mother's home island of Grenada, W.I.
In 1993, she acted in a cameo role in the movie Cop and a Half which was her first movie. In 2002 she had appeared on Russell Simmons' Def Poetry Jam. In 2004 she dropped her debut mixtape named It's Bigger Than Hip-Hop, Vol. 1, which was a combination of her rhymed and sung material, hit the streets. She then joined the DJ Drama/DJ Sense-helmed Aphilliates crew. She has also published a book of poetry.
In 2007 she took over for the departed Natalie Stewart in Floetry's tour, put out the Mick Boogie mixtape called Still Sucka Free, Vol. 1. In December of the year 2007, Amanda Diva released, the first of a planned EP trilogy, Life Experience which was followed by Love Experience and Live Experience. In 2016 she began hosting her show called Greatest Ever. In 2017, Seales teamed up with artist Truth, to start an anti-smoking campaign.
