Ziya Tong shares an exceptional passion for science which is just more than a passing interest. No wonder, she lives this passion of hers through her works. Currently, she is doing science broadcasting as a co-host of Discovery Channel’s show Daily Planet with Dan Riskin which has been on the air for eighteen years. The show comes every weekday on Discovery Canada.
She is recognized as an English-born Canadian television personality and producer. She has her roots that trace to Chinese and Macedonian descent. Although she was born in London, she later lived in Hong Kong for some time and then moved to Canada at the age of eleven.
Working as a reporter and as a senior producer for the news-portal Orientation Global Networks in New York was the first step in her career. Then in 2004-05, she hosted the CBC Television series ZeD; for which she came under the nomination for Gemini Award. The other side to her personality is that she loves traveling and has traveled to more than sixty countries. She got the job which matched this interest when she got to host Island Escapes on CTV. Then in January 2007, she hosted and produced two science shows, namely, Wired Science and The Leading Edge. She has also explored herself in the writing department- by writing for the Wired magazine and by blogging too. She even serves as the member of the Board of Directors of the World Wide Fund for Nature(WWF) Canada. So economically, she is in a very sound status. But what is her actual figure for net worth is not disclosed.
She is very private when it comes to her personal matter. Some of the pressing questions that her fans ask are- What is her relationship status? IS she married or single? If single, who is she dating? The answers to these questions remain a mystery as she hasn’t provided any light over these matters. Neither the media has been able to unravel any truth about her personal matter. In such condition, it is only natural to assume that this thirty-seven-year-old personality may have a husband. If not, she must be engaged or probably, she has a boyfriend. Not a word from anywhere has been heard about being her pregnant.
Her education has hugely played an important role in her successful career. Academically, she holds a B.A degree from the University of British Columbia in sociology and psychology. She also attended Mc Gill University, where she graduated in psychology and communications.
