A Look Into Lucas’ Professional Journey
Lucas’s journey into weather broadcasting began after she completed her education in meteorology from Durhan University.
Soon after graduation, Lucas spent two years working in the French Alps and enjoying snow sports.
Then in January 2007, she joined Met Office. She first completed her forecaster training at the Met Office College and then went to the Met Office headquarters in Exeter, Devon, England, to work as a weather forecaster.
While working there, Lucas got a chance to widen her weather forecasting skills. Serving the network for almost ten years, she left Met Office to join BBC in 2016. Since then, she is a broadcast meteorologist at BBC.
