Marissa embarked on her journalism career through interning for NBC News in New York. After her internship, she soon landed at TODAY Show, NBC Nightly News, Dateline, and MSNBC.
She then started working for KOMU-TV, where her reporting was featured on a Dateline episode. Later, Marissa traveled to Kandaria, Kenya to cover the news on the AIDS orphan crisis. For her coverage, she was awarded first place Special Series or Documentary by the Kentucky Associated Press.
It wasn't long before she secured her career at KMOV’s News 4 This Morning as an anchor, replacing Emily Pritchard.
