With more than half dozen of prestigious honors and felicitation, Linda has always been appreciated for her writing skills. Linda hit the bull’s eye after her debut novel The Cast Iron Shore got all the appreciation, and she won the David Higham Prize for fiction as one of the best stories of the year.
Some of her other awards and recognition include Man Booker Prize for her 2008 novel, The Clothes on Their Backs and her appointment as a fellow member of the Royal Society of Literature (FRSL) in the year 2014.

The 67-year-old English Novelist was born on 15 February 1951 in Liverpool, England as per wiki. Linda completed her schooling at The Belvedere School and went to University of York to study English in 1972.
She then completed Masters of Arts degree in English from McMaster University in Canada.
