The CBS anchor Kristine Johnson, widely known for her 5 pm and 11 pm newscast at WCBS-TV, is a proud mother to her son and daughter with her husband, Steve Poulin. 

Besides delivering outstanding work as a journalist and becoming an Emmy awards recipient, she values family time immensely and doesn’t let her busy schedule hamper her personal life.

Kristine Johnson’s Married Life

The journalist has been married to her husband, Steve Poulin, for over two decades. From their wonderful marriage, the couple has two kids. 

Johnson welcomed her first child, Ava Poulin, in 2002. And, five years later, she became pregnant with her second, Burke Poulin, born in 2007. Johnson is very open about her family life and frequently updates special moments with her family on her social media handles. 

Among several of her shared memories on Instagram is the post of August 2019, where she posted a wonderful picture of her wedding day in celebration of her 20th wedding anniversary. In the joyful picture, the beautiful Johnson seems like she is about to splatter Steve’s face with a handful of the wedding cake.   

Time and again, she posts about her kids on the ‘gram. On March 16, Johnson wished a 19th birthday to her daughter, a freshman at Fordham University, New York. And, wrote,

Happy 19th birthday to this resilient & beautiful young lady!  She experienced her fair share of letdowns this past year but dug deep and proved her self-worth and determination, slaying her freshmen year at @fordhamuniversity.

And, just a few days before Ava turned 19, Johnson celebrated her son’s 14th birthday, sharing a glimpse of Burke's pictures. Furthermore, on January 25, the proud mother couldn’t help but share her son’s achievement on football. He won a Senior Highlander Award for his brilliant performance at Northern Highlands Junior Football & Cheerleading Association.

Divorce Rumor

Despite her happy married life, The CBS host was circulated with the divorce rumor in the past. It is not sure how the rumor even started, but Johson relishes her marriage with her husband, and they never went through anything that could lead them to separate. 

Moreover, Johnson wished her husband through her Instagram on his 50th birthday in 2020 and wrote’

Today @spoulin0831 celebrates 50 years! He’s not very excited about that number, so please flood his IG with birthday wishes, in place of the COVID-caused non-birthday bash. Happy Birthday SMP....simply the best. Love you.

What Do We Know About Her Family and Career?

Born on June 5, 1972, the news anchor belongs to a mixed ethnicity passed down from her Filipino mother and Sewidish-American father. She has a brother, a rugby player, who often appears on Johnson’s social media. 

After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska as a journalism major, she embarked on her journey in journalism as a reporter and anchor for WPRI. In 2006, she joined NBC and served as an anchor for the shows First Look on MSNBC and Early Today

Leaving NBC in 2006, she began working as a co-host of 12 pm and 5 pm newscast at WCBS-TV. Later, she took over the 11 pm newscast and is a CBS anchor to this date. Besides, she has been a two times Emmy awards nominee for her excellent work.
