Gwen Tolbart is one of the most reputed journalists in America.
Embracing an adventurous work experience in the USA and Canada, she has been honored with several awards and recognitions for her civic and professional contributions from various institutions and both the governments of the USA and Canada.
She has been awarded several Emmys, National Association of Black Journalists broadcasting awards, Associated Press Awards, and also named Woman of Distinction Award in Texas in 2002.
In addition to her broadcasting career, she is equally involved in supporting many non-profit organizations of all kinds as a board member or volunteer wherever she chases her career.
While in Montreal, she founded Positive Images, a mentoring project for adolescent girls, and in Dallas, she helped to build mentor programs and workshops for at-risk girls and single teen mothers.

As for her education, Gwen graduated with a Social Science degree from Dawson College, located in Montreal, Canada.
She continued her further study at Concordia University and graduated with a Bachelor in Arts degree in Journalism.
Career & FOX 5
Gwen Tolbart began her broadcasting career at her hometown Montreal, Quebec, working as a host/producer for the Black Community Communications Medias’ news program called Black Is.

She also worked there for radio broadcast named Black Speaks.
After that, she served Canada’s nationally aired Weather Network as a weather and news anchor.
Then, she went to work for CTV’s CFCF-12 as a weather anchor and a reporter for Fighting Back, a consumer advocacy program.
Working there for some time, she traveled to Dallas, Texas, in 1997 to work for KTVT CBS-11 as a weather anchor and a reporter and host for the talk show, Positively Texas.
Having worked there for five years, she went to Washington, D.C., and joined FOX 5 DC in 2002.
Since then, she has been contributing to FOX 5 as a weather anchor and reporter.
