Perez, before joining CNN, led the "Justice Coverage" at The Wall Street Journal as a reporter in the Washington bureau.

He joined the platform in 1998 and covered real estate from Florida before relocating to Atlanta in 2001. While in Atlanta, she reported on airlines, cruise lines, and home builders.

Then, in 2004, he was nominated for Pulitzer Prize with his team of Journal reporters for the coverage of the Florida hurricane season the same year. Further, he helped break the news on the complaint that sparked the federal investigation of former CIA Director David Petraeus.

Further, in a Facebook post of April 6, 2018, it was announced on the official page of the U.S. Embassy Belize that the CNN correspondent would be honored with the prestigious award from The White House Correspondents' Association. 

Along with his CNN colleagues Jake Tapper, Carl Bernstein, and Jim Sciutto, Perez won the Merriman Smith Award for their January 2017's coverage on "How the intelligence community believed Russia had compromising information on Donald Trump."

Having been recognized for is impressive ability in his field of work, Perez has reached the heights of his career and probably earns a whooping salary of over 100 thousand dollars as a senior CNN correspondent.
