Fifty years of age Cody Lundin is an internationally famous professional survival instructor. Cody was born on March 15, 1967, in Prescott, Arizona. He is the survival instructor at the Aboriginal Living Skills School in Prescott, Arizona. Cody is an only child of his parents, and his father was in the military. His ethnicity is white.
Most of his childhood was spent moving around until he finally settled in Laramie, Wyoming. There he attended his junior high and high school. He graduated from high school and started living on the streets, in the backyards of friends, in a commune and then in a brush shelter while he attended college in Prescott, Arizona. Lundin has a degree of B.A. in Holistic Health and Depth from Prescott College.
He founded the Aboriginal Living Skills School in Prescott, Arizona in the year 1991. There he teaches Survival skills, primitive living skills, modern wilderness survival skills, urban preparedness and homesteading. Lundin also co-hosted the reality television series called Dual Survival in Discovery Channel.
Lundin spent his teenage years in mountains of Wyoming where his interest in self-reliance training continued. He frequently hiked alone into the Wyoming wilderness with Spartan gear and a piece of fishing line to improvise catching the fish trout. After he had graduated from high school, he created his first survival kit for living on the road and boarded a westward bound Greyhound bus with a duffle bag and a guitar.This made him make raw choices which could take his life easily.
Lundin is also the author of two books which preaches about survival and preparedness. The books are titled ' When All Hell Breaks Loose: Stuff You Need to Survive When Disaster Strikes' and '98.6 Degrees: The Art of Keeping Your Ass Alive'. In the year 2004, Lundin hosted the show on Discovery Channel called Lost in the Wild.
From 2010 to 2014 Lundin co-hosted the television series Dual Survival. On the show, Lundin showed and preached various survival skills where he went barefoot and wore shorts in all weather. On February 17, 2014, Lundin announced on from his website and Facebook that he got fired from 'Dual Survival' due to differences of opinion on safety matters.
Cody is also an adjunct faculty member at the Yavapai College. He is also a faculty member at the Ecosa Institute, where he teaches about survival and sustainability curriculums that he created himself.
Lundin lives in an off-the-grid solar earth house which he designed himself in the high-desert wilderness of Northern Arizona. There, he composts waste and collects rain water and pays nothing for heating and cooling. He is the only person in Arizona having a license to catch fish with his hands.
