After leaving the DJ job, in 1980, he became the first-weekend weathercaster on CNN. He returned at WTBS as Executive Producer for Documentaries and Magazines IN 1981. He was the weekend meteorologist on WXIA-TV at the same time.

In 1983, he worked as a weekend meteorologist for WPLG. In 1984, he did a 5:30 news where he formed an idea called Neighbourhood Weather in which the weather was done as part of a live feature every day. In 1990, he worked for WTVJ as a Chief Meteorologist where he became very famous for his coverage of Hurricane Andrew. During this hour, he proved to be of great importance to the general public living in fear. Since 2010, he has been involved as a Hurricane Specialist for the Weather Channel. Bryan released the book, My Hurricane Andrew Story: The story behind the preparation, the terror, the resilience, and the renowned TV coverage of the Great Hurricane of 1992.
