Career As A Journalist 

Tim Kurkjian started his career in journalism right after he completed his graduation. He got his first job in 1978 in the Washington Star. After he left the job, he worked for some time in the Baltimore News American in 1981.

Later, in 1981, he joined Dallas Morning News as a Texas Rangers’ beat writer. While he worked there, he learned to cover baseball and eventually quit the job in 1985. Following that, he worked for other companies such as Baltimore Sun (1986 to 1989), Sports Illustrated (1989 to 1997), and CNN-SI (1996 to 1997).

Finally, in 1998, Tim joined the ESPN team and served as a professional baseball analyst and reporter. As a senior reporter for the ESPN team, he writes at the ESPN The Magazine, and for a columnist for ESPN.com.
