Twenty-five years old Bria Hartley (born September 30, 1992) is an American professional basketball player who was born on September 30, 1992, in North Babylon, New York in the United States. She is a professional basketball player who plays for the New York Liberty of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).
Hartley began to play basketball at a very young age. She used to play with her two older brothers. They pushed her around which made her tough and strengthened her to play basketball more. She went to North Babylon High School in North Babylon, New York. There she began playing with North Babylon's varsity squad since she was in eighth grade. She was a four-year starter at her School, where the Bulldogs had a combined record of scores like 81-13 and a record score of 46-1 in the league game.
While in her junior year, her average was 21 points, 7.2 assists, 7.4 rebounds, 6.0 steals and 4.7 blocks per game. Due to such high abilities in the game, she was named to the Parade All-America list. When she started playing in the seniors’ team, she had five triple-doubles and averaged 30 points, 7.4 assists, 5.9 steals, 8.3 rebounds and 5.0 blocks per game. She also leads her team to the title game, where she poured in 51 points.
In the 2014 WNBA draft Hartley was drafted 7th overall by the Seattle Storm team and was immediately traded to the Washington Mystics. Hartley played as the point guard for the UConn women’s basketball team and helped the team to win back to back national championships in the year 2013 and 2014.
Besides playing basketball, she also participated in other sports like soccer and lacrosse. She had participated in the WBCA High School All-America Game in 2010. There she scored 19 points in the game. Hartley also got selected to the McDonald's All-America team, and she participated in the All-Star game where she scored 17 points for the East team.
On June 1 of 2014, in the triple-overtime game vs. the Los Angeles Sparks, the UConn duo of Dolson and Hartley combined scored 34 points coming off the bench. There Hartley scored her first 20-point in a game. Also on June 24, 2014, vs. Seattle Storm Hartley scored career-high 26 points. In a lost game against the Seatle Storm, she suffered a broken left middle finger.
In the 2016 season after playing 24 games, it was announced that Harley became pregnant with her first child and would not play for rest of the season.
