Ricky Duran is an American singer who has recently gained nation-wide popularity in the United States following his appearance in NBC’s singing competition show, The Voice.
He appeared in the seventeenth season of The Voice, which premiered on 23rd September 2019, representing coach Blake Shelton’s team.
Throughout his presentation, he was praised for his talents by judges and audiences. He became the runner up of season 17 of the show.

He is the youngest of four children born to his father, Ricardo Sr. and mother, Odette. His parents were originally from Guatemala before they immigrated to Massachusetts during their early twenties.
His father, Ricardo, was a promising musician while he also worked a full-time job to support his family. Ricardo wanted to pursue a career in music, but he gave up for his family. Despite his never-ending love for his family, he committed suicide in 2012 after his health went into serious decline.
Unfortunately, Ricky's mother also passed away in 2018 due to breast cancer, leaving Ricky and his three elder sisters, Julia, Maria, and Natalie, on their own.
Ricky’s interest in music developed because of his father. When he was just six-years-old, his father taught him how to play guitar.
He used to spend many hours at his father’s built studio, where his father would teach him to play different instruments.
During his teenage years, Ricky played together with his father in the band, Blue Lights Bandits, where his father was the manager.
He also started his own Youtube Channel, sharing cover songs and releasing some of his own, including singles like Tattoo Tears, Dreamin’, and As the Sun Goes Down.
As of his education, Ricky has attended Berklee College of Music, one of the prestigious colleges located in Boston, and graduated with a degree in Music.
