Fadhma n'Soumer is the role of the wife in the film, Fadhma n'Soumer. The film pictures back in the year 1847, with the native village known as summer, stubborn-as-a-mule, Fadma continues subverting expectations.
Pressured into marriage against her wishes, Fadhma refuses to consummate her relationship with her husband and disregards honoring the traditions expected of her, shocking the other villagers in the process.
