Dervla Kirwin is a British actress best known for her role in the hit TV series like Ballykissangel and Goodnight Sweetheart.
Apart from those, she has also acted amazingly in several TV shows like Eureka Street in 1999, Hearts and Bones from 2000 to 2001, Shades in 2001, True Dare Kiss in 2007, Material Girl in 2010, and Silent Witness in 2019.
Some of her movie credits include Pete’s Meteor in 1998, School for Seduction in 2004, Ondine in 2009, Entity in 2012, Luna in 2014, Red in 2016, and Interlude In Prague in 2017.

He was born on 24th October 1971 in Churchtown, a suburb in Dublin, Ireland. Born as the youngest child in her family, she has two older sisters named Blanaid and Paula.
Her father, Peter Kirwin, worked in the insurance field, whereas her mother, Maureen Collins nee O'Driscoll, was a French and English language teacher.

Dervla was enrolled at Loreto High School Beaufort, a Catholic girl’s school in Rathfarnham, Dublin, for her secondary education. During her time at the school, Dervla developed her passion for becoming an actress.
When she was fifteen years old, she was so determined in her dream that she began attending drama classes. Very soon, at the same age, she performed her first role in the BBC’s TV show, Trouble, in 1988.
Next year, she went to London to perform in the Wexford Trilogy’s first part, A Handful of Stars at the Bush Theatre.
From London, she returned to her hometown and attended Sandymount High School to complete her schooling. After completing her school, she was offered a role in the TV movie The Lilac Bus.
From then onwards, she landed several roles back to back in movies and TV series, and by now, she is an established actress.

Dervla Kirwin is happily married to Rupert Penry-Jones, an English actor best known for Spooks, The Four Feathers, and Match Point.

The couple is blessed with two children. The older one is a daughter named Florence Penry-Jones born in 2004, and the younger one is a son named Peter Penry-Jones born in 2006.

Dervla first met her husband Rupert, at London’s Garrick Theatre in 2001 while performing in J.B. Priestley’s play Dangerous Corner. Soon they fell in love and started dating.
The couple got engaged in 2004, and finally, they shared their vows in August 2007.
