Demetria McKinney is an American actress and singer.
As an actress, she has performed different roles in big and small screens and on stage. Amongst all her acting credits, she is best known for playing the role of Janine Payne in the popular TBS sitcom, Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. For her outstanding role in the show, she was also nominated for a 2009 National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communication (NAMIC) Vision Award for Best Performance in a Comedy.
Some of her other notable works are playing the role of May Westbrook in the TV series, Superstition (from 2017 to 2018), and portraying Janine Payne again in the series, The Paynes (in 2018).
Similarly, as a singer, Demetria released two singles in 2014, namely Work with Me and 100, which features rapper, Da Brat. In 2017, she released Trade It All, which landed on the Billboard Adult R&B chart and Easy, which reached the Top Five. The same year, she released her debut full-length album, Officially Yours.
