Greg Davies is a British comedian and actor best known for his roles in the TV shows like Inbetweeners and Taskmaster. For his significant contribution to the comedy world, he has been honored with several awards, including the Laughing Horse New Act Of The Year competition in 2002.

Additionally, he was also nominated for a British Comedy Award in 2011 and the Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for his first full-length solo stand-up show, Firing Cheeseballs at a Dong in 2010.

Greg Davies was born as Gregory Daniel Davies on 14th May 1968 in St. Asaph, Wales, the UK to a Welsh father named Bob and English mother named Pauline. His father was a lecturer and had also taught in the US. He passed away in 2013.

Greg Davies was in a relationship with Liz Kendall. The couple began dating in 2007. However, after eight years of love life, they broke up in 2015. Moreover, announcing her split with Greg to Mirror, Liz said, “We are not together anymore, but we remain really good friends.”

Greg’s ex-partner, Liz, has been a Member of Parliament from the British Labour Party representing Leicester West since 2010.   


Greg Davies showed his talents in comedy at a young age. As a child, he used to get funny, and his father was the one who used to see him with full attention. After studying drama at the university, he thought of being a comedian. However, he was scared enough to start his career.

Then upon his father’s suggestion, Greg began to work as a teacher and spent thirteen years as a secondary school teacher. During that time, he taught Drama at Sandhurst Comprehensive School, English and Drama at Langleywood Secondary School, and Drama at Orleans Park School. 

During his last years in teaching, he thought of starting his dream career, so he took a comedy course, and started doing three gigs a week, while still teaching. Finally, he left the job after one of his friends got him a writing job for the children’s TV channel CBBC

Then playing small roles in TV shows like Saxondale, Katy Brand’s Big Ass Show, he appeared in a recurring role as Greg in the TV show, We Are Klang

However, he was noticed publicly only when he came with a major role as Mr. Gilbert in the popular TV series, The Inbetweeners from 2008 to 2010. In 2010, he also played the role of The Leader in the TV show, Schizo Samurai Shitzu
