In an op-ed of 2012 ‘Newsweek,’ he shared how much he loved to be around his kid by writing, “ I was determined to be there for my son's first walk, talk, boo-boo, and everything else. I didn't want to miss a thing.” He realized that being a single father won't be an easy job, so he rejected many opportunities for a period of time, from 1994 to 2012. After taking quite a long break, he returned to the TV in 2012 for a late-night show. Later he shared that his son was urging him to return to work.

As a child, Arsenio used to be fascinated by magic tricks and loved performing as a magician. He did stand-up comedy and even appeared on ‘Soul Train’ a few times. He gained sudden popularity when he started hosting the late-night show,’ The Arsenio Hall Show. The chanting, “ Woof, woof, woof!” was also made famous by him through his show, where audiences chanted instead of clapping. In his career period, Hall even carried out global significance projects by helping to fight the worldwide preconception of HIV/AIDS-infected people.
