Actor Norm Lewis was born on 2 June 1963 in Tallahassee, Florida. Later, he and his family moved to Eatonville, Florida and settled there.

Although his nationality is American, Norm, who stands tall with an impressive height, is of African-American ethnicity.

He enrolled in Edgewater High School, Orlando and graduated in the year 1981.

Career, Net Worth

Before entering the film industry, Norm worked at Orlando Sentinel, the primary newspaper of Orlando Florida and the major paper in Central Florida.

He made his Broadway debut via the 1993 production of The Who’s Tommy.

In the year 2014, he was cast as the Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera, becoming the first African-American to play a role in Broadway. 

Norms appeared as Porgy in a revised version of Porgy and Bess on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on 12 December 2011. For his performance as Porgy in the Broadway of The Gershwins’ Porgy & Bess, he was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actor in a Musical for his performance.
