Australian television journalist and news presenter Sharyn Ghidella was born in 1966 in Babinda, QLD, Australia. Her parents were Australian and belonged to white ethnicity. She completed her graduation in 1986 with a degree in communication from the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane. Ghidella was the only student of her batch who graduated with a distinction grade in the subject.

Ghidella began her television career by working as a presenter for the then North Queensland Television. It is now known as Network Ten. She was also the producer and presenter of Newsweek which is a regional weekly current affairs program. Later, Ghidella moved to Nine Network which is a news division of Network Ten. She wrote and presented hourly news breaks for National Nine News for three years at Brisbane`s Nine Network.

She anchored the Nine’s Daybreak program in the mid-1990`s and later it was renamed as National Nine Early News. In 2000, she started anchoring National Nine Morning News. In the year 2002, the news presenter Ian Ross left the show called ‘Today’ and Ghidella became his permanent replacement as a news presenter. Ghidella was replaced on Today in February 2005 by Leila McKinnon. Ghidella then went to co-host the news show ‘National Nine Early News’ alongside Chris Smith.

On December 1, 2006, Ghidella left ‘Today’ and the Nine Network. Ghidella was then replaced by Georgie Gardner who was the presenter of National Nine Morning News.

In 2007, she started working on Seven News Brisbane as the weekend presenter. In 2008, she replaced and went on to work on Weekend Sunrise as news presenter replacing Talitha Cummins. There she remained in that position until late 2010.

She has hosted events for The Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority, Shiseido, The Benevolent Society, Qantas, The Australian Grand Prix Corporation, The Special Events Society, The Cairns Business Women's Association, The Cairns Amateurs, and ItalCommercio.

She also regularly works with Meals on Wheels. She is also an ambassador for the Variety Clubs of Australia. She is also a supporter of the foundation called Humpty Dumpty Foundation and has lent a hand to the Hope for the Children Foundation and the Prince of Wales Medical Research Institute.

Moving into her personal life, she is not a married woman but is with her partner in a living relationship. Her partner is a freelance cameraman named Paul Croll. The unmarried couple has two sons named Austin who was born in 2007 and Darcy who was born on 2010. The couple started dating for quite a time. Besides Paul, she has no history of dating anyone or having any ex- boyfriend or husband. She is living a happy life with her family, so there is no reason for divorce.
