Kent was born on 19 June 1990 in South Philadelphia. She is very close to her family and often shows her love for her family members through social media posts. 

She took to Instagram to make an adorable Instagram post on the occasion of father’s day and her mother’s birthday, both falling on the same day, and expressed her admiration for her parents.

Kent works as a reporter at 6ABC in WPVI-TV; she joined the channel in April 2018. Before working at 6ABC, she worked at WCBS-TV as a reporter/fill-in anchor in New York City.

Additionally, she also worked as a freelance reporter at News 12. In an interview, she revealed that she left her job at WCBS-TV and moved to 6abc to be closer to her family in Philadelphia. Maggie had spent most of her life in Philadelphia but had to move to New York in 2007.
