Lisa Daftari is an Iranian-American commentator and investigative journalist. Lisa regularly appears on television and radio with commentary and analysis and provides exclusive reporting on vital developments in the region.
Currently, she works as an on-air Fox News political analyst and has previously been featured on NBC, PBS, CBS, NPR, ABC, Voice of America, the Washington Post and others.
Lisa also serves as founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Foreign Desk which is an international news and the U.S. foreign policy news website. Daftari has been interviewed in English, Persian, and Spanish.

Talking about her family, her father is a college professor and physician, and her mother had a background in language and accounting. She was raised in the suburb of New York City, Bergen County along with her three siblings.

She got educated in a private school and completed her high schools. After that, she attended Rutgers University, New Brunswick and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Spanish, vocal performance and Middle Eastern studies.
Later, she earned her Masters Degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Southern California's Annenberg School of Journalism.
While Lisa Daftari was a graduate student in 2006, she was invited to show her dissertation documentary film about an underground Iranian political group, Marze Por Gohar to Congress.
During that time, she served as an associate producer in the investigative unit in NBC which was based in Los Angeles. She helped in breaking the story about the 2005 Los Angeles bomb plot while she was at NBC. In the incident, an Islamist prison gang, Jamiyyat Ul-Islam Is-Saheeh, planned to bomb an important Los Angeles site.
Lisa Daftari departed from NBC after graduating in 2007 to work as a researcher for several think tanks focusing on the Middle East and counterterrorism. She also attended several hearings on Iran divestment in the California State Assembly.
At the age of 39, Lisa is a bilingual woman who is fluent in Spanish, English, Persian, Hebrew, and she is also an opera singer and pianist. She is a very talented woman, who is at the height of her career.
