He has hosted various TV and radio shows in his career. In the year 2006, he began working for the mighty NBC-TV and them he did a show called Today Show. He was a part of this show from 2006 to 2013. He also used to work for a network called WGN-TV.

He created a news magazine style home improvement and lifestyle show naming as HouseSmarts. With the help of the CEO of Fort Productions, he created a show named Frank DiGioia

In the year 2015, he got inducted into the WGN Radio Walk of Fame, and this has been one of his biggest achievements.

He has done some amazing work as spokesperson too. He has represented Marvin Windows and Doors too. He has been doing so for the year 2004. He has also served as a spokesman for Chicago Market. Not only that, but he has also served as Ace Hardware’s resident Home Expert.

His books have been great too. He released a book called Mr. Fix It: 101 Answers to the Most Commonly Asked Questions about Repairing Your Home Rare Air Media, and this book was a huge success.

The second version of this book came in the year 2002, and it was called Mr. Fix It Introduces You To Your Home. Other books to his name include the likes of House Smarts, Bath Smarts and Room Smarts.

The family of six members lives in Chicago where Lou runs the Edgebrook Ace Hardware and Ville Park Ace Hardware. Lou has well balanced his professional and personal life and has never let the negativity enter in their relationship.
