A Dayton native Doug MacMillian celebrates his birthday every year on 26 January. However, the birth year and the details of his family are not yet known to the media.
As of his education, Doug has completed his Columbia University's Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in 2017 with a degree in Economics and Business Journalism.
Doug began his career as an intern at Rolling Stone in the year 2009. Prior to joining WSJ in 2013, MacMillan used to cover technology for Bloomberg News and Bloomberg Businessweek.
He also used to report on the Uber and Airbnb on the rise of its startups and also report on the decline of aging internet pioneer Yahoo, Twitter and Facebook. The same year, he coined the term “app economy” in a cover story he co-wrote on apps.
