Phil Balsley Wife & Family

The most challenging part of life is when someone has to continue living despite losing their beloved people.

In all the 79 years of his life, Phil has gone through the death of many, but the hardest for him was undoubtedly the deaths of his son and wife.

Phil had a happy family life before the two tragedies struck him without any prior indication.

His son Greg Balsley died a tragic death at the very age of 49 in June 2012. Greg was on his vacation to the Outer Banks when he accidentally drowned in the Atlantic Ocean. After Greg’s death, his social media pages became full of condolences and tribute by his friends and families.

Just like any parent who outlive their children, Greg’s death marked one of the worst nightmares for Phil and his whole family life.

In addition to the pain of his son’s death, the veteran musician again had to live the demise of his wife, Wilma Lee Balsley. She died in Augusta Health, Virginia in December 2014, nearly two-and-half-years after their son’s death.

Though Wilma's death was a natural one, it was one of the most unfortunate times of Phil’s life as he had to live the death of the person, with whom he had lived most of his life.
