Veteran journalist Paul Gigot was born on 24 May 1955 in San Antonio, Texas and currently is of 63 years of age. His family along with him moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin shortly after his birth.

They are Roman Catholic and attended Catholic Schools for twelve years. He graduated from Dartmouth College in the year 1977.

His Journal career began in the year 1980 when he became a reporter at Chicago, Illinois. After two years working as a reporter, he became the paper's Asia correspondent in Hong Kong and was placed in charge of The Wall Street Journal Asia.

After that, Paul worked as a White House Fellow under President Ronald Reagan from the year 1986 to 1987.
