Deena Centofanti, who got exposed to the thrill and challenge of storytelling in a speech class at her Cincinnati-area high school, always wanted to become a journalist.
She graduated in Broadcast Journalism from Ohio University, Miami. Shortly after completing her education in journalism, Deena landed on her first TV job as an entry-level production assistant at WSYX-TV (ABC) in Columbus, Ohio.
Although the salary was not good enough, she learned a lot about how a newsroom and a television station worked. So, she considered the experience as valuable.
Her first on-air job was in 1993 on a small TV station in Steubenville, Ohio, where she worked as an anchor and also a producer.
