The British actress Catherine McCormack came into the limelight after she brilliantly portrayed the character of Murron MacClannough in Mel Gibson's love interest, Braveheart (1995). 

She has also starred in numerous stage productions and TV documentaries such as Braveheart  (1995), Dancing at Lughnasa: Interviews (1998), 28 Weeks Later: The Infected (2007), and Scars of Shame (2013).

For her performance in Braveheart, she was able to win the Golden Pegasus award in the Flaiano International Prizes in 1996.

She was born on 3rd April 1972, with the birth name of Catherine Jane McCormack. Catherine was raised in Epsom, Surrey, England by a steelworker father, Len McCormack, and mother, Carol McCormack. She also has a brother named Stephen McCormack.

Unfortunately, her mother left the world due to lupus while she was at the age of six.

For her education, Catherine got enrolled at the Oxford School of Drama, Oxford, England, in 1996.

Catherine McCormack started her career in the film industry playing the role of Asenath Gardner in the 1994’s TV series entitled Wycliffe. After that, she played in a variety of movies and TV shows.
