Canadian reporter Stacey Dales is a former basketball player. She appeared in the Olympics for her country in the year 2000. She was the First Team All American in 2001 and 2002.
Since a young age, Stacey was a basketball star. She had won three consecutive major wins for her Ontario 'AA' high school team. Even in her college days at the University of Oklahoma, she played well and became the first player in Oklahoma to gain a record-breaking 1700 points, 700 assists, and 600 rebounds. Stacy even led her team to the NCAA Championship game. But, the team lost their game to Connecticut.
Seeing her progress over the years, Washington Mystics drafted Stacey in third overall in 2002. She was even named to the All-Star team as a replacement in the same year. A short while after, Stacey retired from the league in 2004. Following her retirement from the league, she joined Chicago Sky in 2005.
Sadly, the woman with such an excellent caliber announced her retirement from the Women National Basketball Association on 5 April 2008. She stopped playing due to Raynaud’s Syndrome, a medical condition that gave frequent spasms and loss of feeling in her hand.
Despite having to say goodbye to basketball, Stacey remained in the sports realm and started to work as a sports reporter. She joined ESPN as a sideline reporter for the college football games. However, some dispute on the contract spurred her to retire from ESPN.
