Knowing him led her to an internship at the network which in turn led her to a researcher-assistant job with ABC-TV on the college football studio show.
In 2009, Samantha left Liberty and started working for Fox College Sports and Fox Sports Net as a sideline reporter for Big 12 and Pac-10, college basketball and football games.

ESPN's Longhorn Network announced on July 7, 2011, that it had hired Samantha as a sideline reporter. Samantha, along with Lowell Galindo and Kevin Dunn were the newly created network's first three talent retains. After accepting her position with the Longhorn Network, she shifted to Austin, Texas.
Samantha replaced host Erin Andrews on College GameDay on Saturdays at 10 AM ET on ESPN. She also co-hosted the Saturday 9 AM ET edition on ESPNU. Besides her duties on College Gameday, Samantha had been the regular sideline reporter for ESPN's Thursday Night College Football with Pollack, Jese Palmer and Rece Davis from August 2012 until 2014.
